The need to know before purchasing.
Purchases are currently processed through Square. This means that purchases and payments get processed faster without you having to wait for an email from me. Neat, huh?
As soon as payment is processed, I will get an email notification and will work on shipping the item to you. Due to the delicate nature of paintings, shipping can take up to 2 weeks but once the item is in the hands of UPS (my shipper of choice) I will provide you with a tracking number so you can watch the status with great anticipation.
Sometimes computer screens don’t show colors properly and the blue you thought would match your decor perfectly ends up clashing dreadfully. It happens. In the event that you receive a painting and decide you don’t like it, just ship it back within 30 days of receipt and I will gladly issue a full refund!
And then there are times when damage occurs during shipping, despite all parties best attempts. But what then? You can’t hang a broken painting! So send me an email with pictures of the damage and I can either issue a full refund or you can request that I repaint the item. Which I would gladly do at no further cost to you! Of course, since these are lovingly hand-made items there will be some variations between the original and the repaint.
If you are interested in a custom painting, (thank you!) things will work a little differently. First, send a request from the commissions page. As stated on that page, I can only accept a few requests a month due to limited time available. A request is not a finalized commission until we iron out the details via email and you say “Let’s do this!”. Until you give me the go ahead, you can back out at any time. Once you give me that pretty green light, though, you will receive an invoice for 1st half of payment. I cannot begin the actual painting until that invoice is paid and the first payment is non refundable.
Before you agree to the actual painting and I send that invoice, though, you are more than welcome to request a digital sketch which I would be happy to provide. We can bounce back and fourth on the sketch as many times as you want until you’re satisfied or decide to not employ my services with no cost to either of us.
Once painting begins, you can request that I send you updates at the end of each session so you can see how your fabulous picture is coming along. This allows you to be as nit-picky as you want and let me know if there is something that just isn’t working for you. I invite all of my clients to give me their input. After all, it’s your painting, I’m just the brush.
When painting is completed, you will receive another invoice for the 2nd half of the payment and this invoice must be paid before shipping. I ask that you please contact me if something has come up and you are not able to send payment, let me know whats going on in as little or as much detail as you want just as long as you keep me informed. An unpaid invoice after 30 days makes me think you have changed your mind about the painting, at which point it will be released for public sale. If you keep in contact with me, though, I will be happy to hold it until such a time as you are able to send payment.
Shipping is the same as for original paintings however the return policy is a little different. As stated earlier, the first payment is non-refundable and that will hold true in the case of a returned painting. I will of course issue a refund on the second invoice but due to the cost of supplies and time for custom paintings I cannot issue a full refund.
That should just about cover the nitty-gritty details. The most important thing, though, is that my ultimate goal is for you to have a painting you love with no regrets. Maybe even bring some magic into your life. I am a fantasy nerd, after all.
